Continue Reading →On March 23rd, University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) student Alex Sless won the Bronze medal in the Men’s Epee fencing event at the 2019 NCAA Fencing Championships in Cleveland, OH. Alex competed against top epee fencers representing top American colleges, Penn State, Harvard, Duke, Stanford, Columbia, Notre Dame, Ohio State and many more. Continue Reading →South Texas Division of USA Fencing has experienced erratic growth in fencer-events over the past seven years. Since 2010-2011 the growth rate has improved, showing a compound annual rate of 3%. Epee has been the best-performing weapon, growing at 6.5% per year on average since 2010-2011. Olympian Fencing Club is the juggernaut of epee fencing, generating over 400 epee fencer-events per year over the past four years. See the article here.

Continue Reading →Last weekend our 11 years old Ricky Gonzalez, Basis San Antonio and 11 years old Noah Pineda from St. Anthony Catholic School competed at Super Youth Circuit & Cadet fencing National tournament in St. Louis, MO. Ricky finished 2nd and received Silver medal in Youth 12 Men’s Epee event and his teammate Noah end up 15th, one victory away from the medal. Ricky also competed in the Cadet Event and captured 3rd place and Bronze medal. Congratulations Ricky and Noah!
