Olympian had multiple fencers take on Richmond this spring and had great success. We are happy to announce to you that we returned with two medals: Farrah Lee-Elabd won Gold in Y14 women’s epee and Brandon Benavides won 7th place Finalist medal in Y12.

The 2013 NCAA Fencing Championships are coming to San Antonio this March at the Freeman Coliseum. San Antonio Sports and The University of the Incarnate Word are proud to present the 2013 NCAA Fencing Championships, March 21-24 at Freeman Coliseum. Through the NCAA tournament, San Antonio Sports is pleased to shine a light on the local fencing clubs in order to promote and gain recognition for fencing in San Antonio.

Following huge success in the January 2013 North American Cup Tournament in Louisville Kentucky. St. Mary’s Hall students Robin Cheong and Farrah Lee-Elabd won gold and bronze respectively in one of the largest tournaments o the national US Fencing tour. The 2013 Olympian Cup was a huge success. Our Y8, Y10, Y12, and Y14 fencers all got great experience in competition with many coming from around the state. The Senior mixed epee tournament ended up being an A2 event with multiple fencers earning their 2013 ratings. In our holiday tournament this winter, Robin Cheong earned his A rating (A2012) after finishing first in our senior division that included two former Olympians and other highly rated fencers.
